Bangladesh’ returned to the match’ after removing Nasum thanks to Mehdi

Bangladesh began their batting by dismantling the top order, like they always do when facing India. 4 wickets are still down after 59 runs. Bangladesh then lost the seventh wicket by 193 runs. It is challenging to imagine collecting 2,500 in such circumstances. The Bangladeshi lower-order batters then put up a strong fight. They’ve left, leaving behind not only resistance but also counterattack!

Nasum Ahmed got it going. He had a great performance, scoring 44 runs on 45 balls. Sheikh Mehedi and Hasan formed a 45 run partnership off 36 balls for the eighth wicket. Mehdi and the chosen Tanjim Hasan Shakib remained on course even after Nasum left for 238 runs. The ninth wicket Shakib was unbeaten with 14 runs off 8 balls, 1 four, and 1 six, as they made an unbroken partnership of 27 runs off 16 balls. And with 29 runs off 23 balls and three fours, Mehdi is still undefeated. Basically, Bangladesh’s bottom order batsmen Nasum, Mehdi, and Tanjim scored 265 runs in all three of their innings.

Bangladesh’s confidence is growing as a result of this lower order success ahead of the World Cup. The lower order essentially provided the opportunity to prolong the play, according to coach Chandika Hathurusinghe, who attended the press conference following the game.

When asked if the success was due to the lower-order batsmen’s performance, Hathurusinghe responded, “265 runs gives us a good fighting chance, especially when we were 7 wickets down for 190 runs. Then they transported us. A similar scenario has occurred before. But at that point, the batters on the tail could not contribute well. They offered us the chance to extend the game today (yesterday).

After a crucial 29-run innings in the lower order of this game, Sheikh Mehdi also displayed excellent ball control. With 50 runs in 9 overs, he claimed 2 significant wickets, including one from centurion Shubman Gill.
Hathuru responded, “The mentality I saw in the match is amazing,” when questioned about Mehedi’s play. It appeals to me a lot. He played with confidence the entire match. In this game, he gave up a lot of runs in one over. He also brought us back into the fight when Gil started to take charge. We were allowed to resume the game as a result. I’m overjoyed to see him. He didn’t seem like an all-around player to me, but  I am very happy with him.
